Attention #PEC pals! We’ve extended our calls for submissions to our County anthology!
Invisible Publishing is collecting stories, memories and personal history about life in Prince Edward County, Ontario, by people who live in or have ties to PEC, to be publishing in an anthology in summer 2019.
We want you to tell us:
- The craziest thing that’s ever happened to you in Prince Edward County
- The family story that comes up every holiday get-together
- The one PEC story you’d tell someone over a beer
Prince Edward County is the stuff of magic: gorgeous beaches, unruly vineyards, Horn Trips, and meat rolls at the Elks Lodge. DON’T HONK TWICE: A PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY ANTHOLOGY is a dedicated effort to pin down that magic and celebrate everything Prince Edward County has to offer. Edited by Tanya Finestone and Leigh Nash, and illustrated by Nell Casson, contributions span the breadth of PEC experiences, including local legends (and gossip!), family stories, historical anecdotes, and personal essays that capture the colour and character of the real County.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: JANUARY 31, 2019
Please share this call for submissions widely. It’s important that this anthology reflect the true population of PEC. This collection can serve as a platform for voices and stories that are not often heard!
Don’t think of yourself as a writer? We can help by recording your story and transcribing it. Email info@invisiblepublishing.com to learn more.
Royalties from sales of DON’T HONK TWICE will be donated to the Prince Edward Learning Centre.
