April 30 is Authors for Indies day, when authors show their appreciation for Canadian independent bookstores (indies) by volunteering as guest booksellers. And you can show your support by visiting your local store and buying a book. Check out the full list of participating stores.
Andrew Forbes is putting in time at Books & Company in Picton.
Brent van Staalduinen is doubling down: visit him during a morning stint at Epic Books or his afternoon one at Bryan Prince, both in Hamilton.
And a couple of our authors are authors-for-indies-for-life: go and visit Andrew Hood during his shifts at The Bookshelf in Guelph and Kaleigh Trace at Venus Envy in Halifax, and give them a high five for all the good work they do year-round!
