Brent van Staalduinen is the author of Saints, Unexpected, a novel of urban magical realism. The winner of the Bristol Short Story Prize, the Fiddlehead Short Story Award, and the Short Works Prize, his stories have appeared in The Writer Magazine, Prairie Fire, The Sycamore Review, The Fiddlehead, The New Quarterly, EVENT, Riddle Fence, The Dalhousie Review, Litro, Hamilton Magazine, and elsewhere. He’s a graduate of the Humber School for Writers, holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia, and teaches writing at Redeemer University College. He lives in Hamilton, Ontario.
