Lorraine Carpenter

Lorraine Carpenter is the editor in chief and owner of Cult MTL, a monthly publication and daily website in Montreal. She started her journalism career as a music critic, reporter and editor for student papers in 1996, later freelancing at publications including Exclaim, The Fader and Under the Radar, and then working at Montreal’s alternative newsweekly the Mirror, where she was employed as a writer, copy editor and music editor over 12 years. When that publication folded in 2012, she cofounded Cult MTL with fellow Mirror alumni.
