The cat’s out of the bag: I’m moving on from my role as Invisible’s publisher to serve as publisher at House of Anansi!
While this is a big shift, there’s synchronicity at work here: Invisible published its first titles in 2007, and seven-ish years later I took the helm from founding publisher Robbie MacGregor in 2015. I’ve had an incredible seven-ish-year run, and now it’s my turn to hand over the reins.
That’s right: Invisible *will* have a new, incredibly capable, super-fun, smart publisher, and will continue publishing the kinds of books you’ve come to know and love. So please stay tuned for an announcement in the very near future.
In the meantime, the Invisible team will be making and marketing books as usual. And while this change is happening soon, I’ll continue to sit on Invisible’s board of directors to ensure a smooth transition—there’s a plan, it’s a good one, and we can’t wait to share more details with you soon.
It’s been such a pleasure to serve the Invisible community, and it’s because of readers and writers and editors like you that Invisible is bigger than the one person in the publisher’s seat. The truth is that I’m not really leaving the Invisible community, just shifting my position from publisher to reader, and I can’t wait to pick up copies of the incredible books that Invisible will publish in 2023 and beyond.
With gratitude,
Leigh Nash, publisher (for now!)
