Sideshow Tour Diary #6 | Old Haunts, Odd Fonts

I lived in London, Ontario for a quick eleven months (Aug 2005–July 2006) while I completed my MA at the University of Western Ontario. My visit to the city’s second annual Words festival was, therefore, a bit of a homecoming for me. I was honoured to be hosted by festival director Josh Lambier, my former classmate. Josh and I organized a symposium in Winnipeg in 2009 and I know firsthand what a pleasure it is to work with him. I also got to hang out with Maritime ex-pats (and fellow St. FX grads) Stephanie Oliver and Phil Glennie. An old pal from Edmonton, Maite Cruz, also made it out to the reading. And did I mention that 90 enthusiastic poets and listeners attended the event (which was a special edition of London Open Mic Poetry Night)? Altogether, this visit was just such a treat for me.
