Claire Lacey has won the 2013 Robert Kroetsch Award for Innovative Poetry!
Claire Lacey’s manuscript Twin Tongues has won the 7th annual Robert Kroetsch Award for Innovative Poetry, Canada’s most prestigious award for innovative poetry.
For her outstanding work, Claire receives a trade book contract with Invisible Publishing, via its Snare imprint, with a $500.00 advance. Her title will be published in fall of 2013.
2013 Robert Kroetsch Award judge Jay MillAr has this to say:
“Claire Lacey’s Twin Tongues sets up an intriguing concept, executes it, and says ‘deal with it!’ Yet, for all its explorations and insatiable curiosities, it never wavers from what is important to contemporary poetry: language as a social endeavour at the crossroad of writing and reading.”
