After more than a thousand votes and emails, Migration Songs by Anna Quon has made the Salty Ink Judge a Book by its Cover Shortlist. Migration Songs took the lead in the general public vote and now it’s up to a panel to choose the winner on March 5th.
None of this has escaped the watchful eye of the internet: The cover of Migration Songs was a favorite at All Rights Reserved. Book covers for book lovers seems to like us too and Anthony at AMPwerx is also a fan.
Meanwhile, over at Read, Play, Blog, Julie Forrest is reading Fear of Fighting by Stacey May Fowles. You should too. And that’s not just me talking, that’s the National Post’s Afterword. To get a free eBook, check out the post below.
And back at The Afterword, Stacey May Fowles has been dishing out advice for writing fiction. Words I’ll be living by: “Don’t dismiss pop culture as beneath you. Watching an episode of America’s Next Top Model can be just as useful in studying human strife and conflict as reading Tolstoy. Especially now that André Leon Talley is a judge.”
